About us:

Our current focus involves challenging the current proposed development at 75 Monroe. This is the largest development in the Village since the Erie Canal.
Our larger vision is to provide opportunities for neighbors to get together to improve our community. We would like to provide channels for improved communication among residents, and foster friendship and civic engagement. Whether you want to help plan a community garden, an art festival, or engage with government in shaping the future of our Village, a strong civic association is the vehicle for positive change.

75 Monroe Ave. What's Next?

Hello Neighbors,
Many of you attended the Trustee meeting this past week to participate and/or listen to the discussion of the Mark IV project at 75 Monroe Avenue.
The question remains: What’s next?

Please join us for a Community meeting:

Thursday, November 1st
7 pm
Pittsford Library, Fisher Meeting Room
Refreshments will be served

There are two main agenda items:
  1. Strategy and options regarding the 75 Monroe Avenue project.
  2. Establishing a village civic association.
All village residents are welcome regardless of differing views.
At the end of the day we are all neighbors, have respect for one another and care deeply about our village.

See you this Thursday!

Irondequoit

There have been some inquiries into the developer, Mark IV, and their lawsuit vs Irondequoit.  Irondequoit voted down their development plans and got sued.  Irondequoit won that lawsuit.  See the website below for some information:

Sign our Petition

Our petition effort in full swing but we can't hit every address.  If you are a Village resident and would like to sign one please call us at 310-1925.

Our petition asks the Village Board of Trustees to vote NO for a special use permit for the current proposal.  It also requests the board to change the R-5 zoning laws to reduce the allowed height and density of multifamily dwellings.  It is not opposing development of this property, we just want it scaled down.

"Final" board meeting

The next Board of Trustees meeting to discuss 75 Monroe Ave. is Thursday October 25 at 7pm.  This is supposedly the last meeting that will be open for public comments.  The meeting is scheduled to be held  in the Village Hall at 21 N. Main St.

Everyone should come and let the Board know how you feel!  Silence is not an option!

----
Update:
This was indeed the final public meeting on 75 Monroe.  The board has officially closed public comments on the topic.  The board did not take a vote, they have 62 days to do so.
